Children & Elders Forest began 2005 in Bloomington/Normal, IL. We encourage teams of children and elders to: plant indigenous trees in groves, to celebrate and deepen bonds among the generations, and to improve the quality of life in the community.

Act now and sponsor trees in our groves.


 The Children & Elders Forest is inviting you to sponsor trees in any of the below three groves. Clink on the names of the groves below to see the grove designs, list of available trees and the Sponsorship Form. All three groves will have fall 2010 plantings.


Songbird Grove, our newest grove, is located in the M.J. Rhymer Family Nature Preserve of Dry Grove Township, located at 3210 W. Northtown Rd., 3 miles west of Main Street (Route 51). Phase I of this 200 tree grove will be planted in November.


Bur Oak Grove, is located at a new Bloomington City park off of Ireland Grove in the Kickapoo Creek watershed. See the design! The first of two plantings took place May 15th. The second planting will be fall of 2010. You can choose from any of the trees available for the fall planting.


Golden Grove (Phase II), located on the Bloomington High School and Junior High School properties, is going to be planted in fall of 2010.
